And a tremendous shot vs Bulgaria same World Cup 1970.

Peru (FPF) and Burga continue to humiliate the entire country. After the devestating loss to Uruguay 6-0 for world cup qualifiers the entire country took off the blind folds and realized the catastrophic level peruvian soccer is in. The entire peruvian federation body began to crumble and a few men began to jump ship, and some began to question their own judgement, but not all. The president of the federation will not consider stepping down to give way for a new direction. Even if the whole country is holding Burga resposible for the distruction of peruvian soccer will he give way. The federation has gone as low as reinstating three of the four players suspended for undisciplinary actions after the 1-1 draw to Brazil. Players like Claudio Pizarro, Jefferson Farfan and Santiago Acasiete will now be eligible to play for the national team starting July 07, 2008. The suspension was reduced from 18 months to 3 months with a 10,000 USD fine that will be donated to a National Children Institute. On the other hand the fourth player suspended Andres Mendoza did not have the same luck as he will remain suspended for the entire 18 months plus 20,000 USD fine. To me this just goes to show the lack of character on the part of the federation, all they are trying to do is empty all the bullets to see if any will make a difference in the public eyes and they think we peruvians are ignorant to what they are trying to do with this insignificant ruling. I tell them, stop the humiliation and give Peru back what you have stolen from the entire country, Pride, Respect, Admiration, and Honored to be Peruvian. You are out of bullets Burga, We remember 5-1 vs Ecuador, 4-0 vs Mexico, 6-0 vs Uruguay, not to mention last place in South America (unbelievable), 26 plus years with no World Cup appearance and the worst is yet to come in September when we face Venezuela Sep 6, and Argentina Sep 10. With out Burga we might have a chance with Burga we’ll need to find a place to hide our faces..
It’s only a sport but it means a lot more when they put on “LA ROJIBLANCA”.
“VIVA EL PERU”….

The hopes for a World Cup appearence for Peru rests on the results “La Rojiblanca” will obtain against Colombia in Lima this Saturday and Uruguay on Tuesday. The Peruvian players know that Peru must start winning all home games to be able to fight for one of the four spots to represent South America in the next 2010 World Cup in Africa. Nolberto Solano, Peru’s captain, sees this game as a must win, not only to start moving up on the placement chart but also to get their morale back after a couple of disapointing losses to Spain and Mexico. The Peruvian national media is asking for coach Jose Del Solar to resign after last Sunday’s horrific effort against Mexico losing 0-4. It has been a week full of rumors, the top rumor was that coach Del Solar had resigned after the Mexico game in the Peruvian Locker room, all rumors were denied by coach Del Solar at a press conference in Lima on Wednesday. The coach let everyone know that with important qualifiers against Colombia Saturday and Uruguay on Tuesday anyone that knows of his character would never think that would be true. Coach Del Solar stated that his contract expires in December 2009, but if the federation asked him to step down he would do just that. Coach chemo continues to play 2 center midfielders trying to find the right players that can compliment each other, one with a defensive mind and another with a creative mind and the lack of creativity by the players he sends in is being questioned by many, but he has confidence that his team will come together this Saturday against Colombia and show a different effort that will satisfy and quiet all his critics.

I give Coach Del Solar one advise, get your team together this Friday Night before the game against Colombia and make them watch those 1970’s and 1980’s teams that left their skin out on the field but also showed a touch of glamour as they moved the ball from one end to the other with creativity and force.

“ARRIVA PERU CARAJO!” LET’S GO PERU , IT’S TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

DON’T FORGET TO POST YOUR THOUGHTS OF THE GAME…….

The Peruvian National Team, better known to all Peru as “La Rojiblanca” began their preparation for World Cup 2010 qualifier games against Colombia and Uruguay. Peru chose none other than power house Spain in the city of Huelva, on Saturday May 31, for the first of 2 preparation games. The spanish home team gave the peruvian defense a work load that looked like they could handle until the last minute of play. Coach Jose “Chemo” del Solar missed many important figures do to Injuries (Juan Vargas) and controversial suspensions (Claudio Pizarro,Jeffferson Farfan,Andres Mendoza and Santiago Acaciete). Nolberto Solano took the captain band and tried to lead a young peruvian squad, but the spanish stage proved to be a little big for some of the young players that had the apportunity to win the trust of young peruvian coach Jose “Chemo” del Solar. In the first 45 minutes “La Rojiblanca” scaped with 0-1 score after a very good offensive display from the spanish squad. The peruvian coach made a few changes in the second half and sent in midfielder Marino to support Solano and added young forward Rengifo to take some of the pressure of Paolo Guerrero in the attack. The tactic seem to work and the young Rengifo scored his 2nd goal in as many starts for “La Rojiblanca” to give a lackluster peruvian squad a hope to steal a win in Spain. Rengifo’s header goal in the 74th minute tied the game 1-1. The spanish Attack was brutal and coach “Chemo” was forced to replace a very tired Solano in the final minutes and with a minute left in the game the Spanish attack came from the right side and the peruvian defender Miguel Villalta was beaten by Joan Capdevilla for the Spanish 2-1 win. Solano was quoted “There we go again losing in a stupid way”…..

Next, “La Rojiblanca” faces Mexico in Chicago, USA on June 8 at 8pm/Et. One good note is that Peru is getting good challenges for their tough qualifier games on June 14/17 vs Colombia/Uruguay. Keep in mind Peru has only grabbed 2 points out 4 qualifier games and is sitting in 9th place in a 10 team South American group, so is very crucial to get at least a win at home and hope for a tie away.

Tell us, who should coach Jose “Chemo” del Solar start against Mexico?
Which suspended player is missed most in “La Rojiblanca”?
